I've succeeded, with the help of true and loyal friends, in reaching the aim that you have been longing for. Your extreme sacrifice can now help all those soldiers who are in your same situation.
They were missing a lighthouse to point them in the right direction. Now they can be much more hopeful as they can follow your example in order to obtain a fair acknowledgment.
You can be proud of our sons, who are suffering in silence because of your absence and the emptiness you've left inside us, as they've always been very close to me during this long battle. In your short life you managed to teach them the fundamental rules and values of life, your integrity, your great respect of duty, your giving without demanding anything back.
Nothing can ever return you to us, but the moral compensation yes, repays us very much. Your name will never be forgotten by all those young men who wear the uniform and that three-coloured coat of arms you were so proud of.
To fight and struggle for justice was your belief, Stefano, and thanks to you and the will-power you've passed down to me, I've succeeded.
